Macbeth Casting Call

HER Productions, Girl Gang Manchester & Unseemly Women are now casting for our 2025 Unseemly Shakespeare: Macbeth.

We are building an ensemble of Manchester-based women and non-binary performers to be part of the 12-strong ensemble. Our 2025 Shakespeare will tour Hope Mill Theatre, Shakespeare North Playhouse, The Dukes Lancaster & The Lawrence Batley Theatre.

We are seeking applications from actors who can check ‘yes’ to least one of the below:

• Skilled drummer
• Skilled singer (specifically choral singing)
• Skilled / experience in Stage Combat
• Are 5'10 or over

All applicants MUST:

• Be based in Manchester
• Identify as a woman, trans woman or non-binary

​We are interested in hearing from applicants from a range of ages, backgrounds and experiences. We want to work with actors who enjoy working as an ensemble, with our focus being productive collaboration. Our Unseemly Shakespeare projects are a profit share - with all box office split equally between the team.

Key Project Dates:

• Company photoshoot: 23 March
• Rehearsals will span April 28 - June 2 (Part Time - Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays)
• Actors will not be called for all rehearsals - just good availability required
• Shakespeare North Playhouse: 4 - 7 June
• Hope Mill Theatre: 18 - 29 June
• The Dukes Lancaster: 10 - 12 June
• Lawrence Batley Theatre: 2 & 3 July
